A few weeks ago, I had long Sunday afternoon ahead of me with not much else to do than stare out the window at miserable weather, so I decided there was nothing for it, other than to head out for a spot of lunch. I coerced my Mother with promises of tea and cake, and off we headed for Avoca.
If you’re from Dublin, the name Avoca will likely conjures up images of scrumptious scones and pieces of cake the size of your head. The retailer and manufacturer ventured into food at some point along the way, and the cafés have become somewhat of an institution over the past ten years in Ireland.
